In an attempt to dodge the rain, the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States Army started 30 minutes early on Saturday, June 14.
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, his family and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth were all in attendance.
Eighty-four military vehicles, including 28 Abrams tanks, 6,700 marching soldiers and other military presentations, paraded down Constitution Avenue.
ABC News observed some people in the crowd wearing MAGA hats, while others sang “Happy Birthday,” as the parade was about to begin.
When asked Thursday, June 12, what he hopes the public will remember about the American parade, Trump said, “How great our country is, very simple, and how strong our military is.”
“We have the strongest military in the world,” he added.
